A new version by JAMES MACDONALD, from the book by Charles Dickens

From cosy hearths to snowy graveyards, from scenes of despair to festive gatherings, here is the classic tale of redemption in a brand-new theatrical version specially created for WCT audiences. An outstanding kick-off to the holiday season—joyous, spooky, funny, and full of heart. Great for the whole family!

"Michael Spencer-Davis has a simple but important goal for the first scenes of Western Canada Theatre’s production of A Christmas Carol. 'I want to make sure that no one likes me,' said Spencer-Davis, who steps into the role of Christmas-hating curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge in a new adaptation by WCT artistic director James MacDonald." ...Kamloops This Week
"Director James MacDonald says the story didn't require any modernization as the themes of the 170-year-old story remain relevant today. 'We still have the same things happening in the world today, we still have people who are angry, and bitter, and regretful,' MacDonald said. '... and it's interesting to see even in that context of that time how it is still totally relevant and recognizable for an audience of today.'" ...CFJC TV (click to watch video)

For this big-hearted A Christmas Carol, we have gathered some of our favourite performers from Kamloops and across Canada." ...WCT Press Release
