Based on Globe and Mail journalist Ian Brown's candid and moving memoir of raising his son Walker, The Boy in the Moon captures the journey of a couple raising a child with profound disabilities caused by a rare genetic disorder. Told with directness, innovative staging, and stunning emotional honesty. An unforgettable experience for any parent and for anyone who appreciates a story of triumph through adversity.
AUDIENCE GUIDANCE: Suggested for ages 13 and older. See Audience Advisories for more information.
Relaxed Performances are designed to welcome audience members who will benefit from a more relaxed sensory experience and casual environment, including (but not limited to) patrons with an Autism Spectrum condition, a sensory processing disorder, or a learning disability. There is a more relaxed approach to noise and movement within the theatre space; some minor production changes may be made to reduce the intensity of light, sound and other startling effects. These shows are for anyone. Many other people may choose to attend a relaxed performance, sometimes because they like the inclusive environment.
This season, WCT will offer a Relaxed Performance during the 2pm Pay-What-You-Can matinee of Sunday, April 19 of The Boy in the Moon.
