Building off the success of the popular All A’Broad and A Broad’s Way cabarets, we’re excited to welcome even more women to the stage to showcase the incredible local talent here in our city.
Get ready to laugh, dance, sing, and cheer, all in celebration of International Women’s Day. This is a true celebration of community talent—featuring music, dance, theatre, improv, stand-up comedy, and more from a variety of local emerging and established artists.
Brought to you by an all-female WCT team, A Broad’s Way Cabaret is inspired by International Women’s Day’s aims of leveraging women’s advancement, accelerating gender parity, reinforcing commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and celebrating women’s achievements.
A Broad’s Way Cabaret is created by and for all women, including cis and trans women, non-binary people, and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Morgan is thrilled to continue to be a part of WCT's IWD festivities since its inception! Morgan preformed in the first year's festival in Machina 2.0 written and performed with Tracey Power. She was then a part of the organizing committee for last year's A Broad's Way Cabaret as well as preforming in Jessica Buchanan's amazing rendition of Fever as a backup dancer. This year a show Morgan was a co-creator for, Push Up Bar, was chosen to be presented as a part of the festival, and she is honored to also co-host the Cabaret with the remarkable Terri Runnalls! This festival means so much to Morgan. Kamloops is filled with so many incredibly talented women and she cannot wait to showcase even more of the community in the years to come!
Summer is a 16 year old singer/song writer who has been singing with Tina Moore/Stage Presence since 2011. She has done multiple performances over the years with Stage Presence, both with singing and musical theater. She was apart of a summer drama camp for 4 years with shows at the Passion Bowl and Friday Nights Live. Summer also competed in the Kamloops Festival Of The Arts in the singing and monologue categories, which provided her with a great learning experience. She plays piano and guitar with Katie Welch who has been her teacher for many years. Summer focused more on writing songs during the beginning of COVID and has since written around 10 songs, 5 of which have been recorded with Doug Perry. Summer is a competitive climber and trains at Cliffside Climbing Gym with the competitive team. She also mountain bikes, skis, horseback rides, enjoys yoga and, when she gets a chance, wake boarding. Summer loves animals and hopes to one day find a career helping them. The song she is performing is called Hope and touches on mental health around COVID and other daily struggles in life, but the main message it’s trying to convey is how to find the balance of ensuring everyone else around you is okay while still looking after yourself.
Jessica Buchanan is beyond excited to participate in this year's A Broad's Way Cabaret with so many inspiring, creative and brave folks. Jessica was born and raised in Kamloops, BC, and first fell in love with theatre by watching the shows of WCT. She obtained her BA in Theatre from TRU, where she had the privilege of being in many productions, and is the Co-Founder of The Freudian Slips Improv Troupe (which is still going strong!) She moved to Toronto where she was a member of The Second City Toronto Conservatory. While in Toronto, she studied advanced improv, acting and sketch comedy; she also helped produce and co-write sketch and improve shows weekly and enjoyed every minute of it. She is a member of the Break a Leg Collective and is beyond stoked that their show, Push Up Bar, had its Kamloops debut in this year's International Women's Day Festival here at WCT. She is the current Education and Outreach Assistant at WCT and teaches theatre with SD73 with their ASSAI After School Program. She spends her time watching old movies, drinking tea and being surrounded by so many amazing women; including her mother, sister, grandmother, niece, cousins, aunts and pals. It's a pleasure to be a member of such a wonderful artistic community, and she hopes you enjoy the show!
My name is Chioma Darah-Ani and I moved to Kamloops BC from Nigeria in 2015 for school. Graduated in 2017 from Thompson Rivers university with a post graduate degree in Human Resources while working and being a single super-mom to my now grown babies. I currently own a photography business called Sheshootsstreet and I am 100% about showcasing high fashion through the diverse beautiful people that we have in our city Kamloops while doing it in their own unique ways. My values aim at being your unique self and helping to uplift individuals who might be struggling with self love. Sheshootsstreet became a professional business in 2021 and has since helped showcase a lot of hidden talents we have in our city. My greatest strength is my ability to put smiles on people’s faces, even the ones that tend to be most awkward in front of a camera. I have long learned that having that connection with my clients, turns my job into my own safe space. It is my therapy and the fact that they feel safe and worthy around me, makes me feel very accomplished.
Jenny is a CAT Award nominated actor and singer who was born and raised in Kamloops. She is thrilled to be making her WCT debut! Jenny has performed throughout Western Canada, where select credits include roles in Storybook Theatre’s Mary Poppins (The Bird Woman), and Sister Act (Sister Mary Patrick), and Scorpio Theatre’s Women Playing Hamlet (Gwen). You may also recognize the back of Jenny’s head from Season 5 of CTV’s Corner Gas! When she’s not onstage, you can usually find Jenny upstairs as WCT’s Development & Administration Assistant, or hanging out with her husband, Keith, and their sweet kiddo, Gray. Jenny is also an animal lover who loves to spend time with her dogs, Jaxx & Zoey, and her cats, Sundance & Roxie.
Megan grew up in Kamloops and has enjoyed being involved in the local music community. She has completed her Royal Conservatory of Music Performance Diploma in piano. She also took on the position of Director of Education at the School of Music Montreal, a non-profit organization that provides lessons for at-risk youth. She is currently studying at TRU and teaching piano and voice in Kamloops.
Jane lives and breathes everything art; with a life-long passion for drawing, childrens’ media and animated storytelling, good representation is always on the forefront of their mind. As an aspiring actor and comic book artist, she knows the importance of wellwritten female characters, and can’t wait to share her favourite musical number all about her favourite cartoon baddie! She doesn’t condone bad behaviour, but that doesn’t stop her from appreciating bad women who’re as autonomous as they are wicked. Who knew villainy could be so much fun? Jane’s life is dominated by art, theatre, music and storytelling. It’s thanks to the support of her amazing brother, Simon, and loving parents, Ione and Dave, that she’s been creating content alongside her animation-superstar twin sister Anna for as long as either could hold a pencil! As a proud Stage One and TRU AWT alumni, she’ll always have a flare for the dramatics.

After feeling like her creative soul was slowly dying due to the Pandemic, Harmony is delighted to be back on stage with a wonderful group of women for A Broad’s Way Cabaret. Collaborating with Gisella Ramsay on Keep ‘Em Up has brought Harmony joy, belly laughs, and a creative reawakening. Harmony has been wanting to act since she was 5 years old and has been fortunate enough throughout her life to play some fantastic characters. She has also had an absolute blast being able to do theatre with some of her favourite people. Harmony wishes to thank Western Canada Theatre for giving Two Floozies Productions a spot in the Cabaret, and for turning International Women’s Day into a week-long extravaganza! Special shout out to Drew and Aurora for their unconditional love and support, to her family for being incredible, and to Gisella, for joining her on this artistic journey.
Amy brings a lifetime of performance experience to the stage at WCT. She is well known in Cariboo as a performer and playwright at Barkerville’s Theatre Royal. Recently, she went back to freelancing, playing ‘Mrs. Bennet’ in Pride & Prejudice at Chemainus Theatre. Amy splits her time between Vancouver and Kamloops with her partner, Richard Wright and together, they are working with New Pathways to Gold Society on the Cariboo Wagon Road Restoration Project. When not on stage or travelling the CWR, she can be found photographing wildlife, cycling, swimming, gardening, or sewing costumes for her new show. Amy was awarded a theatre creation grant through the Sunset Theatre in Wells, to develop a new musical, Meadows of Stone, with her writing partner/composer, Jim Hodgkinson. She will be performing a selection from their new show in tonight’s cabaret. Amy is delighted to be part of International Women’s Day celebrations at WCT.
Gisella Ramsay is beyond excited to be a part of A Broad's Way Cabaret. A chance to theatre with the marvelous Harmony Maher and to be a part of a strong female collective is checking off a big box on things that bring her true happiness. A TRU Theatre alumni, she was last seen on stage in a Saucy Fops show back in the Stone Age. Creating Keep ‘Em Up has relit her theatre fire and she is delighted to showcase something that has given her a much-needed creative challenge. Gisella would like to thank Western Canada Theatre for giving Two Floozies Productions a slot in this wonderful show. She sends out love and appreciation to Ryan and Eliana for giving her the time and space to create this piece.

She is excited to join WCT and the powerful group of artists coming together for another International Women’s Day Cabaret.
