A chance to gather, connect, and cheer for women in our community! Celebrate International Women’s Day with an exciting week of events curated by an all-female WCT team. A powerful group of women will come together to kick off the first live performances and events at Kelson Hall—featuring music, comedy, dance, inspiring talks, and more.

“It never ceases to amaze me just how much talent, passion and dedication there is in our community. From our fantastic Cabaret performers, inspiring guests, brave Herstory workshop applicants, to our dynamic and hardworking committee, this year's festival will delight you, engage your heart and mind, and remind you that we are surrounded by brilliant women everyday.” –TERRI RUNNALLS, A Broad’s Way Festival Producer
We’re gathering a group of extraordinary local women of various ages and specialties for an evening in celebration of International Women’s Day 2023. The first public event at the brand-new Kelson Hall will welcome women from all over the city to connect and grow with new experiences and inspiring thoughts. The evening will start with a welcome from Rae Fawcett and an enlightening keynote talk about women’s health and wellness from STEPS (Supporting Team Excellence with Patients Society). STEPS is an innovative, new community health centre providing cutting-edge health facilities and access to quality health care and patient care in the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap area—including Women's & Sexual Health Services, LGBTQ2S+ and TransCare, and Allied Health Providers. The second half of the evening will offer several opportunities to try something new, stretch your body, heart, and mind, get creative, and interact with women from all different backgrounds, featuring the following activities for no additional cost:

Amplifying female voices and supporting new local plays is at the heart of this festival and WCT. We are excited to offer a Playwriting Workshop as part of this year’s A Broad’s Way Festival—pairing up two local writers with playwriting mentors and a cast of actors to workshop a short piece. This event is not open to the general public
