St. John’s, Newfoundland, 1947. Lebanese immigrants Habib and his wife Naseema run the local store. It’s their 40th anniversary, and the whole family is here to celebrate! Packed with music, fun and family, this is a hilarious and heartwarming story by Kamloops’ own Janet Michael.
"Look... this is a very special night for Mom and Pop, okay?"
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate WCT’s 40th Anniversary than by producing the world premiere of a new play by Janet Michael. Janet has been an incredibly important part of WCT for over 30 years. Her script is inspired by her own childhood in St. John’s. And the best part is that this is a co-production with the Resource Centre for the Arts in St. John’s so Janet’s incredible story will have a chance to play right back where it all began! - Daryl
