It’s 1955, and Peggy Ann Douglas is hitching her wagon to the pageant circuit in the hope it’ll steer her from her farm to the bright lights of a Hollywood movie set. A play packed with baton twirling, song belting, and some fantastic fiddle playing. Starring Kamloops’ Holly Lewis, this is a play for anyone who knows what it’s like to dream big and hustle to make it happen.
"Miss Caledonia takes the crown." - NOW Magazine
This hilarious, heartwarming one-woman show stars the incredibly talented Holly Lewis, who you’ve seen recently in WCT’s productions of Educating Rita and Peter and the Starcatcher (and, coincidentally, she is also my wife!). I know I’m biased, but I think she’s pretty awesome. This is a great story about a farm-girl with big dreams and a lot of gumption. It was written by Second City alumni Melody Johnson, so you know it’s going to be funny, and it’s got a great amount of heart too. You’ll love it. - Daryl
