Let’s break some rules with music, movement, and marvellous mayhem. An improviser, a visual artist, a dancer, a sketch comedian, a Shakespearean fool, and a musician all walk into a bar… …and Push Up Bar is the result! A collective creation conceived in crazy times* and custom-crafted for YOU, dear audience. Push Up Bar is the balm you’ve been waiting for, administered from a safe, playful distance. *No communicable diseases are mentioned in this show. Just in time for International Women’s Day, Push Up Bar is a devised theatrical piece that draws its textures from its co-creators’ diverse artistic backgrounds—from ballet to sketch comedy, and Gaulier clowning to pop opera rockin’. Don’t miss this wicked and wonderfully weird mosaic-in-motion. Push Up Bar is saucy, subversive, and full of surprises—and locally created right here in Kamloops!

Allandra is also an actress (we loved her as the Wicked Witch of the West in Project X Theatre’s summer fest), and aspiring clown who occasionally cameos in Burlesque…when she’s not practicing as an integrated breath coach and healer.
A delightful digital artist (did you SEE the Push Up Bar logo?), Brittney’s got the chops across the board – singing and dancing her way to an insane musical theatre resume in northern BC before props and scenic painting for Western Canada Theatre when she’s not instructing in their Stage One Theatre School.
We’re so glad that <global event> brought Jess back to Kamloops from her job with Toronto’s Second City. She’s a razor-sharp writer and one heck of an improviser - and film actress too – when she’s not making photographs or teaching kids to LOVE theatre in school districts and beyond.
Fool? More like tour de force: Catriona Leger found her way from Toronto to Kamloops to teach Theatre at Thompson Rivers University – and Kamloops is lucky to have this lady with a career’s worth of experience in direction, performance, education, and running the whole damn theatre Company of Fools! A world class director brings a touch of class to Push Up Bar.
Morgan is so much more than a ballerina, but she’s so distractingly graceful – it’s the first thing that comes to mind. Morgan also acts (we loved HER as Glinda the Good Witch of the North in Pro X too!) and acts out and dabbles in graphic design – while managing the House of Kamloops’ live theatre for WCT. Oh – and this whole thing was her idea.
A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumental musician with a slam poet’s soul, Devon More is our Fringe veteran – having toured her one-woman cabarets (and signature sonic storytelling style) across the country to accolades, such as being an official Hold Over (2018) at North America’s largest theatre festival – the Edmonton Fringe. When she tires of genre-bending theatre and music from East Vancouver, this Kamloopsian-raised rocker fronts indie power trio Hang Lucy – and she wrote a few new originals for Push Up Bar.
